Northern Virginia Orthopaedic Specialists is recognized by Cigna for local efforts to control healthcare costs...

Northern Virginia Orthopaedic Specialists (NVOS) announced today that W. Bartley Hosick, M.D., Christopher Highfill, M.D. and Kevin Peltier, M.D. have again been selected by CIGNA as CIGNA Care Physicians for 2010. This award is based on both quality of care and cost effective treatment. This award reflects an ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality care while balancing the economics of local costs for healthcare treatment.

Cigna’s selection follows similar recognition for NVOS from national insurers UnitedHealth and Aetna Healthcare, reflecting NVOS physicians’ commitment to quality and cost-effictive treatment. NVOS physicians’ commitment to excellence in patient care is demonstrated by their fellowship training, use of technology, and their commitment to continuing medical education.

According to NVOS physician, Dr. Kevin Peltier, “This award recognizes our commitment to providing world class care while controlling healthcare costs locally. While political efforts may or may not be effective, our work has produced measurable results for the residents of northern Virginia.”

Dr. Christopher Highfill noted that, “although these measures are not perfect, some patients with insurance through these national insurers incur lower co-pays for care provided by our practice. Our practice works to increase access to care while controlling costs locally.”
