Dr. John Kim completed his Bachelor and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before attending medical school and completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Kim completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Georgetown in 2005 before beginning practice in Manassas.

Dr. Highfill spent a week Haiti in 2009 and has been on six surgical missions trips over the past six years. The surgical team on this trip from northern Virginia includes Dr. Joseph Farr, Dr. Keith Albertson and Dr. John Gonzalez, all local surgeons.

“I’m glad that we will be able to help during a time of such extreme need,” Dr. Highfill said in a recent interview. “Medical Missionaries has always been committed to helping the people of Haiti and fortunately is able to provide the supplies, logistics and infrastructure necessary to make this trip possible.”

Dr. Chris Highfill is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who treats all types of orthopaedic injuries and conditions. Dr. Highfill completed his medical school training at the University of Maryland, his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center in Jacksonville, Florida and a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Highfill has practiced at NVOS in Manassas, Virginia since 2000 and is regularly recognized by hospitals and insurers for providing high quality cost-effective care. Dr. Highfill has been recognized by WASHINGTONIAN Magazine as a top doctor in the Washington D.C. area since 2006.

This list of 23 elite orthopedic facilities also included Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento, California and Hospital for Special Surgery and New York-Presbyterian/Columbia in New York.
